We’re so excited for our annual Highland School Walk-a-thon on Friday, October 17th at 2:20 PM
All students and staff participate in this fun, school-wide event that helps raise funds for our Highland School Angel Fund. The Angel Fund provides necessary items and services for our families who may need a helping hand.

Here’s how you can help:
✅ Look for a pledge sheet coming home soon.
✅ Encourage friends and family to sponsor your child with a small donation.
✅ Return all pledge sheets and donations to your child’s classroom teacher by Friday, October 17th.
Families are welcome to walk with us! Come out and cheer on the kids or join the walk!

Want to volunteer?
We’d love your help during the event! Please contact Mrs. Weissenberg at kweissenberg@skokie68.org.
Thank you for supporting our Highland community!

Free Flu Shots at School

Highland Elementary will be hosting a Free Flu Clinic for students on Friday, November 7, 2025. The clinic will be run by the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile through Advocate Children’s Hospital.

Flu shots are available at no cost for all students—whether you have private insurance, Medicaid, or no insurance. The vaccine given will be the flu shot (not the nasal spray).

Consent forms were sent home with your child and are due back by October 24, 2025. Please complete the form (including insurance information if applicable) and return it to school if you’d like your child to participate.

For medical questions, contact your child’s doctor. For other questions, you can call 847-676-5004 or email svakharia@skokie68.org.

If you would like to support the Highland school library but can’t come to the Book Fair, Highland’s PTA set-up an eWallet account where you can contribute to Highland’s library fund. Simply click on the below eWallet fund link and donate. Your donation will allow our amazing librarian, Mrs. Talbert, to purchase books from Scholastic for Highland’s Library.

To donate, please click on https://shop.scholastic.com/ewallet/fund?lang=en_US&walletId=520dfc23-cd37-414a-9de6-879c289c2941 and help fill our school library with more books and resources!
